Education and Experience

I graduated from Florida State University in 1991 with a degree in psychology and a minor in child development. After graduation, I worked in the business world, then shifted my focus to having a family. I enjoyed the role of supporting an entrepreneurial husband and launching 3 children into college and careers. This has given me a deep understanding of the stresses and joys that life can bring.  Also, having navigated the social and educational difficulties of raising children with diagnosed learning differences, I have a unique perspective on the stressors surrounding those realities.  This led me to become Orton Gillingham certified.

I began pursuing my master’s in counseling at Richmont Graduate University in 2018. I have a heart for families with children facing educational and emotional challenges. During my final year at Richmont, I gained experience working in school counseling with middle schoolers as well as supporting adolescents and adults in a private practice setting.

Services Provided
My training and experience includes helping children, adolescents and adults with anxiety, depression, boundary dilemmas, life transitions, parenting stress, spiritual struggles and relational difficulties. Additionally, I am certified in Prepare Enrich and SYMBIS, which are assessments for couples that can help improve relationships using evidence based research. As I meet with individuals and couples, I use a person centered approach with behavioral and interpersonal interventions.

I want to partner with you using proven methods to help you find relief from the struggles you are facing and help you regain joy and hope in daily life. My combination of education and experience enables me to skillfully come alongside you to make sense of your own story and achieve your personal goals.
